FAQs
What ID's are acceptable?
Non-expired, government issued photo IDs from ANY state or country; e.g. driver's license, passport, or passport card. For customers under 18 years old a photo school ID is acceptable.
Missed Appointment / Reschedule Appointment
To cancel or reschedule an appointment, please login to the account where the appointment was scheduled and select the option to cancel or reschedule.
More Than 5 Paper Fingerprint Cards Needed
If you need to complete more than 5 paper fingerprint cards, before scheduling an appointment, please send us a message in the Contact Us section below. Appointments with a large quantity of fingerprint cards may need to be scheduled outside of our normal business hours so that other customer's appointments are not displaced.
Rejected Fingerprint Cards
If an ink rolled fingerprint card completed at a Mile High Fingerprinting location is rejected for any reason, we will redo the card again for free***. Please note, some individuals do not have obtainable fingerprints due to excessively worn fingertips from dry skin, age, or activities that cause excessive wear and tear on a person's hands.
***The first appointment must have been scheduled on the Mile High Fingerprinting website, not via a partner such as Colorado Fingerprinting. The customer must provide a copy of the receipt or email confirmation of the first appointment. This does not apply to any digitally submitted fingerprint order.
Colorado Fingerprinting CBI Unique ID Codes
All reasons to be fingerprinted for CBI (Colorado Bureau of Investigation) have a CBI Unique ID code. The most common CBI Unique ID codes can be found by clicking HERE. If you can not find the CBI Unique ID code for the reason you are being fingerprinted, ask your employer or the agency who is requesting that you be fingerprinted for their CBI Unique ID code.
Colorado Concealed Carry Permits
For Colorado concealed carry permits, you must be fingerprinted at your county's sheriffs office. No other agency is allowed to fingerprint for a Colorado concealed carry permit.
Denver Guard Card
We can not fingerprint for the Denver Guard Card. Applicants must call the Colorado Fingerprinting Helpline to schedule: (720) 292-2722 Option 2
Court Ordered Fingerprinting
We can NOT roll fingerprints for any court ordered fingerprint request. You must contact your local law enforcement agency and specifically state you need to be fingerprinted for a court ordered reason.
Fingerprint Cards
We provide FD-258 fingerprint cards with the Privacy Act Statement. This is the standard FBI fingerprint card most states accept. We can also print on any fingerprint card you have been provided.
What is the difference between fingerprinting and a background check?
If your employer or state agency has requested that you get fingerprinted, it is likely because a fingerprint based background check is required.
